A Place For Youth is committed to helping youth develop leadership & be outstanding members of their community.
At A Place For Youth, it starts with leading by example. Our hope is to inspire our students to contribute to others and foster a better understanding of self, purpose, and fulfillment. Our students are required to complete 100 hours of community service, at least one quarterly volunteer event.
Community service holds a unique value, whether small or significant, every act, when united for a common goal, can profoundly impact our community, personal development, our environment, and beyond.
Students who complete over 240 hours of community service during their high school career are eligible to receive “APFY’s Outstanding Citizen Award”. This award celebrates honorees committed to participating in the change they wish to see in their community, taking the initiative, and being outstanding community members.

Community service projects take planning and coordinating, managing, and deliberation. The most impactful projects require working in a team capacity. You’ll find that this work doesn’t measure up to “work” when you’re having fun and making an impact.

Learn about careers and projects happening in our community, and how you can be a part of them! These connections may come in handy for future professional and/or personal references!
Creating change requires dedication to action. Our team coordinates volunteer opportunities and events for our students to support their leadership development. We invite student leaders to join planning committees and suggest volunteer opportunities to our community calendar.
